Strategic implementation
At engira, we actively work with ESG in our organization and apply it in how we run our business and operate our plants. It is manifested in our corporate strategy and implemented through our ESG strategy, which includes KPIs and targets within each of the three letters. For some of the areas, we are in control ourselves and others are, to a different degree, affected by factors outside our control. The five focus areas that we focus our ESG work around are:

The focus areas have each defined KPIs, long-term targets and annual targets for guiding the way to reach the long-term targets.

Our main purpose is to contribute to driving the share of renewable energy up, but we must do it with respect for the environment and local community.
We are committed to ESG and actively integrate relevant sustainability initiatives into our business to effectively identify, manage and minimize risks. Our approach also supports operational improvements, strengthens stakeholder engagement and contributes to the development of a more resilient organization.
A strong integration of ESG principles into daily operations creates value in both the short and long term while strengthening competitiveness and supporting responsible growth.
Impacts in the value chain
A thorough understanding of our entire value chain is essential to effectively managing our environmental and social impacts, risks and opportunities.
Considerations of nature and biodiversity are integrated to ensure that we do not negatively affect the surroundings and mitigate whenever needed. Identification of stakeholders and engagement with these are initiated to ensure local support for a project. Selection of the right suppliers and partners is essential, both for project execution and asset operation and maintenance to ensure efficient and reliable performance but also for ensuring commitment to ESG in their work practices including compliance with safety practices. At the end of the assets’ operational lifetimes, the components are decommissioned and, wherever possible, sent for recycling or recovery, supporting a more circular use of materials and resources.
