Solar power is at the heart of what we do. engira owns and operates a diverse portfolio of solar PV plants across Europe, Japan, Chile and Canada, with a focus on generating renewable electricity efficiently, reliably and over the long term.
Our portfolio includes several types of solar PV installations, reflecting the different conditions and opportunities in the markets where we operate. Large ground-mounted solar parks make up the majority of our installed capacity, while rooftop installations utilise existing buildings and infrastructure. We also operate solar parks equipped with single-axis tracking systems, where the panels follow the sun throughout the day to optimise exposure to sunlight and maximise energy production.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution in solar energy. The technology used at each site is selected based on local conditions, including available space, solar irradiation, terrain, grid connection and project requirements. By applying proven photovoltaic technologies in the right locations, we aim to achieve strong and stable performance while making efficient use of available resources.
Monitoring portfolio in real time
Technology is equally important after a solar park has been commissioned. engira’s operational portfolio is connected to the VCOM monitoring platform, providing a common system for monitoring production and technical performance across our assets. From our Global Monitoring Center in Milan, our operations team monitors the portfolio in real time, helping to identify deviations in production or technical performance at an early stage.
The data collected through VCOM supports ongoing performance analysis and optimisation. By comparing actual production with expected output and reviewing key performance indicators, we can identify trends, investigate deviations and prioritise optimisation initiatives. This data-driven approach strengthens our asset management and enables continuous performance follow-up across the portfolio.
